 Cultural diversity is as essential as Bio-diversity. Indian culture is vastly diverse; with varied Indian Dances and Indian Classical Dances, Classical Music, Folk and Tribal Art, Theatre, Visual Arts and Literary Art.  

About Us

SANKALP, is a national nodal cultural organization, significantly contributing towards promotion of India’s cultural  and artistic diversity; as embodied in the uniqueness and plurality of its regional cultural identities, linguistic multiplicity, and manifold creativity. 


Promoting Indian Culture and its Diversity through varied modes of artistic creations, productions and disseminations in performing arts (Indian dances-Indian classical dances and contemporary Indian dances, Indian classical music, theatre, and traditional and tribal/folk/indigenous arts) through a series of national and international festivals, performances and workshops

Mrs. Kasturi Pattanaik, the pioneering Odissi dance exponent, performer, choreographer and music composer; is the Programme Director (Culture) 

& Creative Head of SANKALP. 


Mrs. Kasturi Pattanaik has been contributing to the promotion of Indian Dance, Indian Classical Dance and Indian Culture; more particularly in Odissi Dance and the integration of the Odissi Dance, with Odissi music through her new and innovative art and dance creations.

SANKALP’s programmes encompass festivals, performances, workshops, orientations, trainings, refresher courses, exchange programmes, conventions, seminars, symposia, conferences, artistic creations, and art exhibitions on Indian art and Indian culture; the great civilisational growth, goals and glories of India; the vast and varied cultural heritage of India; more specifically  performing arts (Indian classical dances – Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Kuchipudi, Odissi, Kathakali, Sattriya, Manipuri and Mohiniyattam; Indian dance; contemporary Indian Dance; Indian classical music- Hindustani music, Carnatic music, and Odissi music; theatre; and traditional and tribal/folk/indigenous arts); visual arts and literary arts.
